Development for the automotive industry
A big automotive OEM put out an RFP for the development of a case for large electric car batteries. It needed to be as light as possible, functional, and designed for series production of 20,000 units per year. We won against 19 other competitors, because our developers thought differently from the beginning. In aviation, we never think just about the individual component, but about the total design. Accordingly, we looked into what structural functions our component could also perform.
